Yoga for Beginners

Discover a practice that will bring wellness to your mind, body & soul

+ I'm new to yoga, what can I expect from my first yoga class?

When you arrive at the studio or join one of our livestreamed classes you will be welcomed by your yoga teacher. Our classes begin with a few moments of ‘settling in’, where you will be guided to focus on your body, mind and breath.

The majority of the class is spent holding different asana or poses both in seated and standing to help build strength and flexibility.

The class ends lying down in Savasana or relaxation to allow your body absorb all of the wonderful benefits of yoga.

+ What classes can I book as a beginner?

Beginners are always welcome – even the seasoned yogi was once a novice!

We recommend our Balance & Stillness, Nourish & Nurture or Posture & Practice classes are ideal for new yogis. It’s a great way to build your confidence and learn the basics.

We recommend booking in advance of your class. If you'd like more details on booking our 5-Week Foundation Course - send us an email.

+ What do I wear?

Wear something comfortable that allows you to move easily - choose clothing that's supportive, non-resticvtive and lightweight. Layers are good to remove if you get warm or throw on for relaxation or Savasana at the end!

+ Do I need any yoga equipment?

You'll need a yoga mat if you're practicing from home via our live-streamed virtual classes. If you're joining us in the studio, we have yoga mats and equipment available for you to use.

+ Can I wear socks?

Generally most studnets don’t wear socks when practising yoga as it affects your grip, but if like me you feel the cold - you can buy special grippy yoga socks and keep your feet warm!
